Hi,

I have to develop a java application which among other things, it has to
manipulate images (read, write an image mainly, perhaps image browsing or
image gallery browsing)

1. What java platform should I use (visual java, sun java, etc.)?
2. Do I have to use an extra package like JAI or the build in Classes of
the aforementioned package include all the necessary tools?
