Visible columns in a JTextField
Q.) When calling the version of the constructor for JTextField or JTextArea
that accepts parameters for the number of visible rows and columns, what
is the relationship between the value passed for visible columns versus the
actual number of characters visible in a the JTextField or in a row of a
JTextArea ??? The examples I've seen in texts show a number (usually arbitrary)
for number of columns and typically the number of visible characters across
the text field or row of a text area is much larger. What's the deal ?
Regards,
John
