Re: AS400 screen to Windows GUI
We have a server based product called JWalk (Seagull Software, I think) which
allows users to access our AS400 via a web browser with a GUI interface.
The nice thing about it is works over lan & wan without having to install
Client Access or any other software. This is great, especially for those
of us that provide support. . .I can gain access to our AS400 from anywhere
there's a computer with a modem and web browser. My personal preference is
Client Access but the non-technical (i.e. point-n-click) user community seems
to like it over Client Access. I believe it's a java applet.

Amit, Pluta Brothers Design (www.plutabrothers.com) sells a product called
PSC400 that will automatically convert your AS/400 display programs to run
over the web. PSC400 provides a green-screen emulation mode (it looks almost
exactly like client access, except in a browser) and a customizable "gray
screen" mode. The gray screen uses JavaServer Pages, and the interface can
be easily enhanced to make it seem that your applications were designed for
the web frmo the ground up.
We offer online demonstrations, and we'll perform a pilot conversion of your
code to show you what it looks like.
