Error messages

I'm trying to create JavaScript error messages on my web page to encourage
user participation. I'm building the site in Dreamweaver. Where do I start?

If you want to simulate error msg, you could use DHTML user event handler
to capture mouse move or onkeydown or onkeypress... anything like that and
use an alert('error') with javascript
