    Accessing browser bookmarks

Does anyone have any tips on how to access a client's bookmarks? My goal
is to access the bookmarks and then populate them into a drop-down box on
my website. If this is possible can I also access what they have named each
    bookmarked link?

I think that would involve reading files from the users hard disk, which
kinda violates the java sandbox idea... but i think you can get around problems
like this if u have a signed applet?
