How to create/use dynamic multi-dim arrays?

I'm at a complete loss on how to create a dynamic mult-dimensional array.
Regular arrays allow for multi-dimensions, but they are not dynamic. Vectors
are dynamic but appear to be one-dimensional. Surely there has to be a way.
If JavaScript can do, Java has to, right?

    Thanks,
    Gary

Vectors are dynamic and one-dimensional, true. But a Vector contains a list
of Objects -- any Objects. So a Vector can contain a list of Vectors...
there's 2 dimensions... and each of those Vectors can contain a list of
Vectors... there's 3 dimensions... and so on.
