Regression Testing

What does "Regeression Testing" in general mean? Can someone please give me
a very brief answer?. Thank you.

You keep a list of tests that you will run against your application.
Presumably this list is comprehensive and covers all aspects of the
application. Then, when you make any change to your application, you run
ALL of the tests. That's regression testing.
