    Setting focus to JtextField(Swing!)

    Hi all

I have a dialog with JtextField and JButton. I want to do the following
on the click of the button I want to query the value of the JtextField and
if it is not xxxx then set focus to the JTextField.

    My problem is :
How do I set focus to the JTextField
How do I link the a variable to the JTextField?

    Please help!

    Cheers
