Java integration to HTML Script and Style

I am building a website and have down loaded a couple of 'Java' codes and
thought that they would just drop in nicely. I do have a small ammount of
Html knowledge but am flumoxed with Java.

    My question is
    How does <style></style> and <script language="JavaScript"></Script> fit
together I have an under-line on links remover and an alert box to display
a welcome message. Before I got script errors now I cannot see the site without
going back to bare bones code.

How do I have a number of java scripts/ applets on one page can I do multiple
<script language="JavaScript"></Script> (for formatting) or do I fit them
    all in the one segment.

    Please help

    James,
It seems you are confusing Java and Javascript. There are some similarities
    but there are more differences.
