    Mouse pointers and Update/refresh

    Two easy questions:

    1. How can I change the mouse pointer to an hourglass while the application
    it thinking like in VB?

    2. How can I refresh the display in a textfield while in a loop. This
    is for testing to see if something happens before closing, basically I want
    to say 'you pressed the button' then exit. But you never see the text change
    because that update seems to happen last. VB had a refresh method for the
    form.

    Thanks.

    SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() {
    public void run() {
    yourComponent.setCursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR);
    }
    });

    SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() {
    public void run() {
    yourTextfield.setText("message");
    }
    });
