    setting classpath in sun solaris


    can anyone please tell me how to set classpath for
    external class files in sun solaris.

    Please help.

    It depends on the shell you are using - if you are using the CSH or a derivative
    (e.g. tcsh) then you want to use -

    setenv CLASSPATH path_to_files:another_path:another etc.

    (Of course, replace "path_to_files" etc. with the disk path to where the
    external class files are stored. Note you can specify as many paths as you
    like, separated by colons)

    If you are using the SH or a derivative (e.g. bash) then you want to use
    -

    CLASSPATH=path_to_files:another_path:another etc.

    You should save the command you use into your startup file (e.g. .login,
    .profile or the like) so that it automatically executes every time you log
    in, setting up your environment for you.
