I am assuming you want the screen at full size when you show it:
JFrame sandyFrame = new SandyFrame(); //some frame of yours...
Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
sandyFrame.setSize(new Dimension(screenSize));
sandyFrame.show();
Did not try it but should work, I do similar code to center on screen via
frame location property.

this.setResizable(true);
