gridlayout question

Can I use a gridlayout but specify where I add components? Like a 1,5 grid
but I only put buttons on 1,2 and 1,5.

I think that makes a lot of sense, why don't you go ahead and try it out.

Sure, add blank components (e.g. a Panel) to those entries you want to be blank.
