running applet on Netscape 4.7 on Win98 crashes

hi has anyone experienced this...?
if yes what was the solution ?
Our applet first downloads two jar files (only if required) and then
somewhere crashes. This happens only in the combination of Netscape 4.7
and WIN 98.

Sun now has a java plug-in for doing those applet things. You might want to
give it a try.
