How do you install the MMC Snap-In Designer for VB?

I downloaded the entire Platform SDK, started VB 6, and expected to see "Snap-In"
in the New Project dialog. No dice. What did I do wrong?

    Hi Chris,

Are you sure you installed it? There's a whole bunch of stuff on the PSDK
that is optional -- maybe the snap-in designer is one of those things that
you need to "turn on" during the installation. The designer should be
there -- the old MMC site (http://www.microsoft.com/management/mmc/) has
been taken down now that the designer(s) ship with the PSDK.

First, like Klaus said, make sure you really instaleld it. During the
PSDK Setup, you should select Sample Code | Management Samples |
    Microsoft Management Console Samples.

You can also check in the [PSDK]\Bin directory. If the designer is
installed, you should have the files Mssnapd.ocx and Mssnapr.dll
    there.

I've also heared that the PSDK might install the Snap-in project
templates in the wrong directory, but I haven't had that problem
myself. You can always search your harddrive for SnapIn.vbp. If you
find it somewhere where it shouldn't be, move it to your
    [VB]\Template\Projects directory.
