Access 97
I don't know if this is the right place to be asking this question, but I'm
sure someone out there knows the answer!
I have totally given up on Access 2000 so I am using Access 97, I have a
Windows NT machine, I want to be able to use Access 97 and keep all my other
applications like Word and excel as 2000. unfortunately when I try to load
up Access 97 all my applications become office 97 even though I have done
a custom load operation??
Any one know where I could be going wrong or is it not possible??
or can anyone guide me to where I could find an answer??

From what I've read, the following steps need to be followed to have
successfully install both Office 97 and Office 2000 products on a machine:
1. Office 97 must be installed first. In your case, it sounds like you only
want Access 97, so you would install only Access 97.
2. Install Office 2000 to a separate directory. Do not let Office 97 and Office
2000 install to the same directory.
3. Do not let Office 2000 upgrade or replace any Office 97 products that it
finds on your machine.
It sounds to me like you installed / upgraded to Office 2000, then tried to
install Office 97 or Access 97 on top of it, and I could see where you would be
having problems.
If this is the case, I would recommend uninstalling both Office 2000 and Office
97, then install Access 97, then install Office 2000, following the guidelines
above. Hopefully, that will take care of your problems.
Hope this helps!
