PUT FLASH MOVIES INTO VB
The best way to put flash into vb is simple, once in the vb project goto components.
CLick browse, goto the system directory and then click on the directory
called MACROMED, then click on the FLASH folder. In that folder is a file
called SWFLASH.ocx. You can use this control to place flash movies right
into vb. You can use the FSCommands to send info between the flash movie
and the vb app.
(YOU MUST HAVE FLASH INSTALLED ON YOUR MACHINE FOR THIS TO WORK)
Re: PUT FLASH MOVIES INTO VB
Hi, I need help on this one
MY BACKGROUND: Industrial designer, Flash developper and ... Ultra-new at
VB. (...you get the picture ;-))))
THE PROJECT: I am trying to use VB5 to create an exe with an embeded Flash
movie (ShockwaveFlash component) that loads external movies and variables
from a remote server (eventually from a database). Everything works fine
(at least it's on the way to be ;-)... except this:
MY PROBLEM: I can't find a way to use the "LoadVariables" Action in the Flash
movie to work properly when it's embeded into the VB form:
(My goal is to display variables values from a remote text file on a server)
WHAT'S HAPPENING: when I use the LoadVariable function (via the corresponding
button in the embeded flash movie), I get the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
<...the name of my VB file...> caused an invalid page fault in
module SWFLASH.OCX at 017f:1001a76e.

NOTE the LoadMovie (Flash function) works 100% fine (so??)
THE REQUEST: Do you have any idea of what the problem might be (I already
talk with the guys at Macromedia but... :-)
Maybe I need to execute that function from within VB and the pass the variable
to the Flash movie using the SWFLASH.OCX (GetVariables function in flash)???
(I'm new at VB... ;-)
If you can help me please send me your email address and I will send you
