Lockups with ADO used asynchronously from VB6 against SQL Server
Hi there,
I'm using ADO in a VB6 executable, running over a tcp connection, against
SQL
Server 7. ADO is connecting and executing commands, all asynchronously.
ADO is
locking up the entire app eternally, only about 10% of the time. But it is
happening about 10% of the time on about 5 of 10 machines running the
application.
From the best I can tell it is not connecting to the database at all.
The client app is running on Win98 SE, with IE5.5 SP1 (plus all recent
critical
updates), and MDAC 2.6 RTM. VB6 with SP5 was used to build and redistribute
my
application.
I did run the MDAC component checker on all machines with the problem, and
they
all say that MDAC is installed completely and without problems or missing
components.
Has anyone else experienced this, and can anyone make any suggestions of
work-
arounds?
Many many thanks,
Heather
