API books

Hello, I am looking for a book to learn more about API. The 2 books that I
have heard positive things about are:

1. Dan Appleman's Visual Basic Programmer's Guide to the Win32 API
2. Win32 API Programming with Visual Basic By Steven Roman (Oreilly)

I have noticed that both books were published 1n 1999. With Windows 2000
here are the API calls going to be really different. What I'm asking are
these 2 books out of date with the relese of Windows 2000. Would anybody
like to recomend one of the 2 books?

Actually, the Windows 2000 API is not diffferent per se, just bigger. It's
still 32 bits, and all the information in Appleman's book still applies. But
the real reason to choose the Appleman book is that he teaches you how to use
new API functions you discover later on. It sounds like this is exactly what
you are looking for.
