    Mario -

You can obtain a pointer to a function using GetProcAddress, but VB will
not directly allow you to call that function. However, there is one book
I have found which has code which enables you to do this (see http://www.powervb.com/
). Highly recommended if you are doing interesting things with VB.

Matt Curland recently wrote an article on how to implement function pointer
calls in VB for VBPJ - about a couple of months ago I think, the code should
    be on this site somewhere.....

You can also call a function, given a function pointer, by using the free
Callptr dll on our web site.

    Re: Use of GetProcAddress

Another possibility is a new VB addin I've just released for VB6 called
    TweakVB (www.TweakVB.com)

It includes example code to call function pointers without using DLL's or
    type libraries.

Plus, you can set module specific optimizations, link C and Asm OBJ files to
your VB projects and even use inline assembler in your compiled VisualBasic
    projects.
