unwanted <pre>-a-like behaviour

Hey folks,

I implemented XML-data in an HTML document using a dynamic table and the
"DATAFLD" attribute for the <TD> to read out the XML-data. I encounter a
problem using this:
the text within the XML-tag is rendered wrapped just like in a <pre>-tag.
Is there a way to not let that happen?
{white-space: no-wrap} isnt working.. so...
