COM+ Events in NT 4.0
I'm trying to figure out how to use COM+ Events in a NT 4.0 environment.
Now, before everyone goes and tells me that COM+ is a Windows 2000 feature,
let me say that I
already understand that, unfortunately Windows 2000 is a while off for us
yet. However, I did notice
that the BackOffice Server 4.5 installation installed a "COM+ Events Service"
on our NT 4.0 server, so I
figure that it should be possible to use COM+ Events on NT 4.0.
I've studied the semantics on creating publishers and subscribers, and that
is not a problem. The
problem is configuring the publishers and subscribers on the server. All
of the documentation and
articles I have read refer to using the Component Services snap-in to configure
publishers and
subscribers, however, I don't seem to have a Component Services snap-in or
I can't find it, probably
because that snap-in is only distributed with Windows 2000.
Has anyone else had any success using COM+ Events on NT Server 4.0 that would
be willing to point me
in the right direction?
Thanks,
Brian

Yes, you are right. COM+ Events and IObjectConstruct only in Win2K. Go
to MSDN to look for "COM+ Overview for MS Visual
Basic Programmers".
