    Linking Tables From Heterogenous Data Sources

    Hello. I want to link tables from an Oracle DB and MS Access DB and return
    a single recordset (i.e. a distributed query). I've read that you can embed
    a connection string in a SQL statement. Is this possible?
    Any example would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank You!

    I've seen where tables from multiple RDBMSes were linked in a query. But
    you have to have the servers linked at the server level. I've never seen
    Access linked with RDBMS. If you know of a way, let me know.

    hi michael,

    i have used sql server 7 with access 2000 as a hetrogenous database to get
    a single recordset. u can try this with oracle. example is as follows

    SELECT A.*,B.* FROM AccountMaster AS A, OPENROWSET('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0','\\MYSERVER\MDB\AStk7.mdb';'Admin';'','SELECT
    * FROM AccountInfo') AS B
    WHERE A.AccountCode=B.AccountCode
