    ODBCCCP32.dll

    Hello all:

Read an article on Microsoft KB: HOWTO Create and Remove a DSN in VB. It
talked about using VB5. I tried to use its sample code in VB6, but got fail
on "Reference" it's DLL, ODBCCP32.Dll. Do I need to “Regsvr32” the DLL? Or…

    Any help will be appreciated,

    KP:

I couldn't see it in "Reference Window". When I tried to "Brows/Open" it
from WInnt\System32, I got "Can't Add a reference to the specified file".

    Ok then...

You have to Browse and open like you said, to see it in the reference window,
but you should try first to "regsvr32" it before like you said.... tell me
if it helps, because I may have another solution in that case....

Here I found some doc on the problem.... you won't be able to regsvr32 it
either.... you cannot use this library from VB that the thing...

    Read this small article too.

    http://www.microsoft.com/Office/tech...dreference.htm

Tell me if it works out !

    Hi KP:

I tried "Components" on Project. However the file was "Not registerable as
    ActiveX Component".

My PC has WinNT 4/SP3, VB6/SP4 and Access 97. I don't know any conflict between
    those files.
    (I tried RegSvr32. It wouldn't work)

    Thanks,

    Re: ODBCCCP32.dll

As I already said... you CANNOT use this library in VB no matter what...

you will NEVER be able to add it to your references or the register it !!!

The only work around is to try to find an API that will read the functions
contained in that library... the reason why you can't use it in VB is that
this DLL is a library of functions probably, instead of a librairy of objects...
