I have a project which uses ADO and ADOX to create and then connect to an
access database. I was worried that the program would have install problems
if the host machine didn't have MDAC in some form so in order to check the
redistribution package I reinstalled Windows 98 SE to get a "clean" computer
to try the package on. I use ADO and ADO controls within the project and
ADOX to create the DB.

When I installed my program without installing ANYTHING else (i.e. that could
have possibly have put data access components on the computer) the program
worked without error - is this possible??? The Microsoft site implies that
I would have to distribute MDAC with my program but this suggests otherwise.
Does the ADO20.tlb have sufficient capabilities of connecting to a JET database
without the need to install the whole MDAC package??

Here is a (edited - I've taken out the files I'm positive aren't relevent)
list of files that get distributed by the package.
MSVCRT40.DLL
VB6STKIT.DLL
COMCAT.DLL
STDOLE2.TLB
ASYCFILT.DLL
OLEPRO32.DLL
OLEAUT32.DLL
MSVBVM60.DLL

[Setup1 Files]
MSSTDFMT.DLL
MSADODC.OCX
MSCOMCTL.OCX
MSADOX.DLL
MSDBRPTR.DLL
MSADO20.TLB
MSBIND.DLL

Thanks for any information any one can give on this terribly complex subject!!!
