    Setting up AccessPermission for DCOM

    Hi,

I've made a DCOM server on Windows NT.

Now i'ld like to automate the Client configuration by editting the registry
    thru Program while installing.

I succeeded alomst but i's not able track how i can give the Registry entry
    MyComputer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{.............}
under this key Accesspermission one entry is there.

Its a big entry of type Binary Value. How can i insert this value.

(We can do this using DCOM Config. But I want to automate the process. For
3 days I am searching, but I am not getting how to update ACL(Access Control
    List) of a DCOM object.)

Any help or idea is appreciated.

Thanks a lot for spending your valuable time for reading this.

    Sameer,

have you tried exporting this stuff from RegEdit to see what it gives ?
My guess would be that if regedit can't export it, it can't import it either.
You would be forced to write you own little app that updates the registry
based on some database or so.

    Willy.

I'm thinking that this can be accomplished via the IClientSecurity and IServerSecurity interface or
WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) interface. Unfortunately I haven't look at either enough to
    provide you with any examples.
