Basic Database question about Access 2000...!!!

When I'm working an on click event for a command button in access 2000, how
do I access information in a specific table? I tried the CurrentDB function
but that didn't work. Sample code would be great. Thanks in advance.

do you want to look up a particular string or value from a field in a particular
table? Is that what you mean?
