*URG* Class does not support automation

    Hi there,

    I make my connection :
    con.Open "file name=" & lstrUDLFile & "Test.udl"
    frmLogin.show

The code in the form_load of frmLogin is :
    rsUserNames.Open "qryLoginUsers", con, adOpenStatic, adLockReadOnly

After the recordset the program gives the error-message : Automation error '430'

I compiled the project at Win2000, I used package & Deployment to make a setup with Mdac and Dcom98. I installed the setup on a clean Win98 machine and installed Dcom and Mdac....

    What went wrong??

What must i do to make a setup to use on all OS???

Could u please let me know soon???

    Greets,

    Hi,

Your Automation error is probably caused by an incorrectly registered or missing Activex component, e.g. DLL,OCX. Let the Package and Deployment wizard detect the files you need to install. Comiling on the same OS as your target OS is a sure way of picking up compatible DLLs.

Although you want your application to run on all OS, it is generally a better idea to target a particular install to a particular OS, unless you have a lot of time in which to do this !!

I also recommend using "InstallShield Express" to deploy apps. It is much more user friendly and runs quicker when installing apps.

    Dan.
