Might want to look at the basic problem - No Database Naming Convention Standards
have been written. I'm the Project Lead for Application Development, and
as such, work VERY closly with the DBA staff along with my programmers.
We all have together developed and documented our DB standards. We now spend
more time on development then on asking what should the field names be.
This also speeds up migration from development to QA to production, as the
DBA has less work knowing that we are following the standards.
