Will Access 97 databases work in Access 2000?

    Hello, gurus,

Just told that Access 2000 will not run Access 97 files. This «rumor» is
not typical of the company who rolls out this stuff. Has anyone had any
problems converting Access 97 databases to Access 2000 or having Access 2000
    opening A'97 files?

    Thanks for your input.

Access 2000 will convert an Access 97 .mdb file. As always, there are the
occasional issues of some code not making it, but generally there is no problem.

As a further thought, you can run an unconverted Access 97 database in Access
2000. You won't be able to change any objects, but it will run.

    Thanks, Kirk,

This confirms my original opinion that the product is maintaining the consistency
between 97 and 2000 just like it did with 95 and 97. Thank you.
