Database Headache
Okay,
If anyone could just point me in the right direction - I would really appreciate
it.
I have a client with a major problem with data access. Retrieval times
for getting a high number of records out of an Access '97 database are somewhere
in the neighborhood of 7-8 MINUTES.
This VB6 based software was written using DAO. No relationships are setup
directly in Access - just uses foreign keys to sort the data.
Any ideas?

Re: Database Headache
Hi Bill,
A couple questions come to mind when I read your post. Namely - how many
users are accessing the db? Is it being connected to locally or on a
network? How big is the database? Is the long data retrieval time just for
one SQL statement, or is it just slow overall?
Regards,
Chris Ross
