Technology Specialist

Technology Specialist Provides expert technical and sales support to strategically
targeted solution developer accounts, corporate accounts, channel partners,
and competitive recruitment partners to ensure high volume and successful
evaluations, adoption, and implementations of Microsoft's knowledge worker/collaborative
technology and mobility solutions within the Mid-Atlantic (Virginia, D.C.
Maryland, and West Virginia). This includes: evangelizing and positioning
Microsoft as the leading provider of technology supporting the development
and deployment of Line-Of-Business applications to developers, business,
and technical decision-makers; providing technical expertise to targeted
solution developers and corporate customers considering, planning, installing
and maintaining the strategic deployment of collaborative and wireless/mobility
solutions based on Microsoft technology. It also includes managing the technical
relationship with key solution developer partners through extensive interaction
and providing advance information of upcoming Sharepoint Portal Server, Exchange
Conferencing Server, Mobile Information Server, Pocket PC OS and related
product releases, managing expectations on delivery time and code quality
with beta program participants, and providing customer feedback to appropriate
program and product managers; assist Account Managers with identifying line-of-business
application opportunities and defining sales plans for targeted accounts
by providing information concerning an accounts strategic technical requirements,
integrating Solution Developers into the sales process, and assisting with
an account plan design which addresses those technical needs; understanding
and presenting a total cost of ownership comparison versus those of competitors;
providing district training to keep the sales force abreast of the latest
technological developments in the Microsoft product line as well as competing
and complimentary technology; maintaining expert knowledge of Microsoft and
competitive products, assuming responsibility for district participation
in these technology solution areas. Requires 5+ years computer software
industry experience to include a strong solutions design utilizing Microsoft
BackOffice products (emphasis on Windows 2000 Server, Sharepoint Portal Server,
Exchange, Exchange Converencing Server, Microsoft Message Queuing Server,
COM+) as well as development tools, competitive products, client/server application
development and networking in data-intensive application environments. Strong
communication and presentation skills are essential. A BA/BS degree in CS
or related discipline, pre-sales support or consulting experience and MCSE
or MCSD certification preferred. Moderate travel required.
