Error When I delete the content of a cell in True Grid

I am using a true Grid Standard with visual basic 6 and access 97 database.
The grid is bound a datacontrol. The datacontrol gets data from tables with
fields whose datatype is double. An error happens when I delete the content
of the cell ,whose datatype is double, and move to next line in the grid.
The message shown to me is "The field can't be zero length string"
    Please anyone can help me

    Thank you so much
    Luciano

set your table to allow to accept null or 0

    -t-

    Thanks for your answer

I 'd like to provide more information about the e-mail that I 've sent for
you informing about the error that occur when I delete the content of the
cell and move to another line in the True DBGrid Standard.

The message error is "Data type conversion error""

All of the cell hold double values.

In the Access 97 database these fields are not required. After delete the
cell its value property hold "" value(zero length string)

I think the problem is happening because the access database don't accept
zero length string on double data type. It only accept null value on double
data type. What I have to do to the Grid convert
    "" to Null

I've used True DBGrid Standart with Visual Basic 4 with Access 2 database.
    This error hasn't happened. Why?

    thank you very much
    Luciano

    Tonny,

Is there some reason why you have not defined the field in the database as
    'date/time'?
