How to run VB 6.0 execuable file (EXE) in Win95 environment?

    Hello, VB Pro,

I have a VB EXE program compiled by VB 6.0, but it can't run
in Win95 environment. Would you help to tell me how to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Carol Chang

    The message i got is:

'cannot find file 'd:\ps2000je.exe' ( orone of its compoents).
Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries
    are available.'

ps2000je.exe -- is the executable file and it will read files from d:\report
and write the output to d:\report as well.
I have tried to run this executable file in WinNT4.0 and Win98.
Both environments could run the file OK.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Carol Chang

    Hi
Try creating a package of your application using Package & Deployment Wizard
& then install the package on your Win 95 system..& then run your executable
    & then run you exe
Most probably it has few missing files.
    Cheers

When that doesn't work download Windows Installer from MS and use it instead.
The Package and Deployment Wizard is poor at best, whereas the Windows Installer
    is more robust and cleaner.

I had to use this because the P&D does not detect in-use DLLs and is unable
to unload them and install over them. The Windows Installer does and can,
it even tells you which apps have the offending DLL open...
