How to connect to remote database?
After reading mounds and mounds of material, I am still
confused on how to connect remotely to a database
stored on a server through internet TCP/IP.
I know that I could send HTML requests for ASP data,
and then parse the data. This was not immediately
viewed as the most efficient.
I've thought of creating my own 'service' on the server
that would marshall all requests... but that's what I thought
I bought SQL server for.???
If I can get ADO/MDAC (whatever) to work for the
remote connections, then what happens to my user
count? I've got SBS with a limit of 5 users...
Does this wipe me out when I've got numerous remote
connections looking to query the database?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
