When you click the delete button you shift focus to it. You can use the
..SetFocus method of the listbox to reclaim it afterwards.

    Thanks Bob

    the air ?

Do you mean a ListView? If so, change the HideSelection property to False.

If you do mean a Listbox then the highlighting does, and always has, remain
for me. The focus rectangle goes because the form no longer has the focus
but the selected item is still highlighted.

Thanks again Bob for your effort.

I've fiddled with the listbox for a while ..

When the listbox have a selected item, and i displays a msgbox , the focus
makes the listbox selection disappear for me. I always thought it was a common
    in VB.

Is this behaviour just happening in my project ?

I'm using VB6(SP3) on Win98SE and the selected item remains highlighted if I display a
MsgBox. It also remains highlighted if I set focus to another control. It *even* remains
highlighted if I set the ListBox's Enable property to False.
