    Brain Washing

In his article "VB.NET Raises Hackles", Russel Jones is so full of Microsoft
propagandistic crap that it makes me want to vomit. It is amazing how the
power-hungry, paranoid crooks in Redmond can entice such mindless idiots
like this to pontificate such absolute nonsense. .NET does nothing to advance
our technology. It is purely another Microsoft ploy to maintain their strangle-hold
on the PC and software industry. This guy is just a puppet who hasn't a
clue as to how his own thought process has been infested and controlled.

So, Danny, how much experience do you have with .NET? Got anything original
to back up your rant, or are you just trolling?

Hmm. While it is probably safe to say that MS wishes to maintain and expand
its market share and revenue stream (and what company wouldn't?), I think it
is equally safe to say there are some significant technology stories to be
found in the .Net framework. To lambaste it as a technical non-issue is not
only wrong, it is pretty telling that you haven't given it a lot of your
    bandwidth for evaluation.

That's right Danno, shut up and drink your koolaid, and you too can meet
the aliens. If you don't see the inherent superiority of .NET, you simply
haven't opened your Third Eye by bashing your head against the Migration
Lizard as you rewrite^Wport your existing code, which really ought to be
redesigned from scratch anyway, and unlearn everything you already know
about component programming. It's like yogic levitation -- if you can't
do it, you simply must not be trying hard enough...

    Hi Thomas,

FWIW, this article is not on the "dotnet framework" but on the issues
regarding VB changes, which Mr Jones clearly illustrates he knows
    nothing about.

He even goes into defending the changes as necessary to the
implementation of .net (which even MS denies).

Nope, this article has been discussed in some detail before and it's
quite clearly off target (read: full of it).

There *are* some significant technology stories to be found. This
ain't one of them. By a *long* shot. I'd have been embarrassed to
    publish it.

Actually, because I don't have time. Here it is sneaking up on 10pm

That's a total lie and you know it. We've gone over this time and time again
and each time we've proven you wrong. I'm not going to waste my time by explaining
it to you again because you can easily search this newsgroup's archives if
you really wanted to know. This post is meant, more or less, for any newbies
who stumble across this newsgroup and mistakenly think you know what you're
    talking about.

    /Pat

BTW, I can't help but notice how ironic it is for you to post to a thread
called 'brain washing' considering all the misinformation you've been trying
to spread over the past year or so. It's no shame that you haven't been able
to win many converts. Remember that the future of computing will move forward
    with or without you.

To that end, if you're new to .NET and want to know the real truth, go out
and get yourself the .NET Beta. Decide for yourself, as I did.
