    No, now you're merely wasting less bandwidth and disk space than before.
    Perhaps it won't matter for long, since if Microsoft wants us to send
    and store everything in XML today, whatever compression schemes are used
    to put XML streams *this* side of unmanageable might recognize the lack
    of information in your posts and deal with them accordingly.

    Oh, this really WOULD be laughable! There I am, saying how bloated I
    think XML is for many, many uses, and you can guess at the kind of
    reception I got! And now we're talking about compressing XML to make
    it manageable?!! What a joke!
