Need Books on VS .Net, VB .net, ASP.net
Can anyone point me to reviews of .net books?
I want to learn how to develop DB apps on the Web using VB .net and SQL Server.
I tried to find a search button for this newsgroup, but couldn't find one.
I'd be happy to search the NG if I could.
In particular, I'd like very much to find books that provide the entire book
in electronic form on a CD (or downloadable).
I am a very experienced programmer, but not in any of the .net languages.
I have a lot of Visual FoxPro and Visual Basic experience, and some ASP
experience.
TIA.
Best Regards,
jmu

Hi,
IMHO, this is the best way to search news groups: http://groups.google.com/.
Google bought out the old Deja newsgroups database. They have newsgroup
archives that go back 20 years. You can get news group discussions from the
Microsoft groups that have been deleted. Also, it will return results from
accross many news group servers. That way you don't have to hop from group
to group looking for the same information.

GotDotNet.com has a pretty good list of books, and they all have links to
Amazon, where you can see customer feedback.
AngryCoder.com has some real-world programmers periodically review books
as they get released.

There are about a zillion reviews on amazon. But you'll need to find a book
first.
There are a couple of reviews on www.vbrad.com
