    IIS Windows NT Authentication

I am using IIS 5.0. The server is using Windows NT Authentication to authenticate
users accessing the web-site. The problem I am having is that the username
and password dialog box does not pop up everytime a user tries to access
the web-site. IIS takes the users credentials from the computer, confirms
that it is a network user and just lets them in. How can I make the username/password
dialog box to pop up everytime a user tries to access the web-site. Please
    help. Thanks in advance.

Use basic authentication. or write code in global.asa to challenge the browser

    Re: IIS Windows NT Authentication

I had the same problem. In my case, the QA personnel were testing the account
expiration in my system and they were changing the system time back and forth.
If they make this change (from a later day to an earlier one) while the Web
Browser is running (after the user is authenticated) the system maintains
the authentication. Therefore the login dialog does not appear. I had to
delete all offline temporary pages and reboot the system to restore the login
dialog box. I don't know if this apply to you but I hope it will help you
    to find a solution.
