Even more of a success if it didn't need the .Net framework and if
everyone could use it. Might then even become the next RAD tool of
    choice...

Glad it's out at last. Can't imagine why MS kept Saturn under lock and key
for so long. It has been usable for a long while now.

What I've heard is that it was just done for fun, almost entirely written
by one new-hire. If that's true then I imagine they had to do some work
to convince everyone that it could be positioned in a way that made
    marketting sense.

Explains the change from Saturn to Yet Another Silly Product Name[1] ;-)

PS Unless it's a pun on the Red or Blue pill choice from Matrix. Use this
pill (ahem IDE) and there's no going back.....

I don't think there's much chance that it's anything other than that.

    From the site:
    <quote>
We ended up choosing Web Matrix because it suggested creation and
connectivity - the interconnection of developers and ideas in a community.
And it also reflects the experimental nature of the project

It says on the site that they use web services to talk to asp.net....has
something to do with the community side of things I'd guess....nothing bad
    or secretive I think....
