ActiveX components and common windows controls in Visual Studios.NET and VB.NET
I am hoping someone can help me with determining which versions of the following
ActiveX controls ship with Visual Stuidos.NET and VB.NET:
MSFLXGRD.OCX
MSMASK32.OCX
COMCTL32.OCX
COMDLG32.OCX
TABCTL32.OCX
The reason for my request is that my supervisior wants to begin tracking
version changes so we can manage or avoid any DLL and OCX **** when upgrading
or recoding our applications in VB. Currenlty we use VB5 and plan on migrating
and then recompiling all of our applications into VB6. We do NOT have VB6SP5!
I am recommending to him that we install the service pack. Also if anyone
knows where I could get copies of the latest versions of these ocx's without
purchasing or installing some other application or software for testing purposes
that would be great. Originally we were hoping Microsoft would simply have
a webpage outlining the changes from one version to the next and tell us
whether the latest versions support backward compatibility....but after almost
a week of combing MSDN and microsoft.com I have reached the conclusion they
have either not released this information or have not bothered to compile
it and publish it to the web.
Thanks in advance for any hints or tips!

Mike,
Just out of curiosity, it you are migrasting to VB 6, whay are you asking
about VS.NET and VB.NET??? As far as I am aware, VS.NET has its own version
of the controls in queastion, which ARE NOT ActiveX controls in .NET (.NET
does NOT use ActiveX, though existing ActiveX controls and DLLS can be used
in .NET apps, via COM- Interoperability)
