Re: .NET SP2 Released
Yup, that's right. VB6 still compiles your legacy VB6 programs just fine!
However, should you wish to take advantage of the improvements and
refinements in VB.NET, a new service pack has just been released for you!

Any idea of the changes/updates, as the link for information on the SP
doesn't actually seem to work...

The link works now!
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframewo...ads/sp/faq.asp is probably
what you want.

The SP2 page is linked from the MSDN .NET framework section. The download
works, and I have it.
Just wondered what the changes were is all. :-)

They originally had a link to the KB article but it was broken. They've now
since removed the link but when the article appears, it should be at the

Re: .NET SP2 Released
Hi Miha,
BUG: Visual Studio .NET Properties Window Does Not Respond After You Run
Debug
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q313899
I call it the auto-hide bug because it only happens if you're using auto-hide.
I love resolution number one....
<quote>
Quit and then restart the Visual Studio .NET integrated development environment
(IDE).
</quote>
Yeah right, Microsoft, like we really want to exit out of VS.NET everytime
this happens.

I'm betting you're out of luck until VS.NET SP1. Hopefully it'll come
soon and they'll have fixed the inheritance picker/setup project bug.

Patrick: I have adopted the following solution (from the same KB article):
NOTE: It is recommended that you change your settings so that the
Properties window and the Output window are not both set to Auto Hide.
This will prevent the issue from recurring.
If that's not acceptable, you may correct the problem, when it occurs, by
clicking on the Properties tab, then clicking on VS.NET's Window menu and
selecting one of the View options: Dockable, Hide, Floating, Auto-Hide. A
nuisance, to be sure, but much easier than quitting and restarting the IDE.

Yes, you and I may be aware of this work around, but apparently Microsoft
doesn't.
