Hi Everybody,
I am working with a company which has started development of portals and
web enabled applications. We have to decide for the serverside scripting
language.
We have expertise on ASP,Servlets and CGI-Perl.
1)Which language is best ?
2)Why ?
3)What are technical aspects we should consider before selecting any one
?
4)From cost-benefit point of view which is suitable ?
5)What os and web servers support is available for all above mensioned languages
?
6)From performance point of view, which is best ?

This Java Server side scripting tool set is based on JavaScript.

It is very easy to use and very productive.
The toolset includes a very good interactive debugger.
It runs on all the popular platforms and is scalable.
It supports WebServers with CGI interface.

A new product is about to be announced and I believe
includes servlet support.

Worth a look.

Asp is the best in my opinion, not just because I'm a Microsoft Internet MVP
but based on experience. You can make full use of VBscript, Jscript
Perlscript, and use Java based COM objects written in native java. If you
use something like Resin in IIS you can also switch between JSP?servlets and
ASP to get the best of all worlds.....and the enw ASP+ language is awesome -
powerful beyond all expectations.
