Problems with Installing IE6 and .net?

I don't have a lot of apprehension regarding installing the .net stuff -
    it's IE6 i'm scared of.

Have many of you had problems with IE6? Is there a way to have IE 5 and 6
installed at the same time (I'm guessing that there isn't)?

Since we're on the topic, how about VS.net and the framework? Any problems
there with it hosing your system? I might have to install it on my
development box and I want to make sure it's relatively safe/stable.

    Thanks!

I installed VS.NET beta2, which made my e-bank choke (they install some
custom certificate validator that is *highly* sensitive to version changes).
So I went ahead and reversed the installation of IE6, back into IE 5.5.
As far as I can tell, it doesn't affect VS.NET negatively in any way
whatsoever. And my e-bank was up and running again.
I'd like MS to detail what it is in IE6 VS.NET requires to work properly,
not that I am particularly afraid of IE upgrades, but because I like to be
in control of the upgrade process. I'd rather have them completing the
contents of the documentation, rather than the looks of it. If there is a
    trade-off, that is...

    Any particular reason why?
I'm asking because IE6 is released software (although the version on the
beta 2 CDs is not), while vs.NET is in beta, and I've had no problems with
    IE6.
