    Web Service to Windows Forms communication Help ?!

    Hi people !,

    Web Service to Windows Forms communication Help ?!

    help please !! how can you facilitate Web Service to Windows Forms communication
    ? (or at the least, what's it called ?)

    what i mean is, suppose you invoke a Web Service function that should update
    a TextBox on separate Windows Forms application . they are both on the same
    machine.

    thanks ! any help would be greatly appreciated !!!!

    Web services work pretty easily...here's a quick example:
    Create a vb windows form and add a text box and a button.
    Add a web reference to this URL:
    "http://webservices.eraserver.net/zipcoderesolver/zipcoderesolver.asmx?wsdl"
    This is a sample zipcode resolver server I got from www.xmethods.com.

    In the code for button1 on the form:
    Dim wsZip as new net.eraserver.webservices.zipcoderesolver()
    textbox1.text=wszip.fullzipcode("0", <some streetname STRING>, <Some CityName
    STRING>, <Some StateName STRING>)

    You could pass in the values from the city/state/street etc through user
    input but for simplicity I would just hard code to get it working first.

    Need any help let me know. You would add the reference to your web service
    the same way. I have created my own web service on the same machine as my
    windows form and it works just fine.
