    Object creation question

In VB6 I sometimes use the following to create objects

    Dim myObj as ICustomInterface
    Set moObj = CreateObject("myLibrary.CConcreteClass1")

where ICustomInterface is set to public, not creatable and CConcreteClass1
    is set to private.
I tend to use this within a class factory that returns various implementations
of an interface depending on values sent to the class factory.
I am new to VB.Net and I have not seen any examples of creating objects from
    strings.
How is this type of object creation done in VB.Net (or C#) ?
