mailto link with subject will not work

    Hi all,

I'm trying to set up a mailto link with an automatic subject but it will
not work. I'm using Internet Explorer 5.0. Here is my code

    <a href=
    "mailto:BajonaL@mar.dfo-mpo.gc.ca?subject=ASD%20Website%20Comments">
    Submit your comments
    </a>

    any ideas

This may not help you right now, but the link you pasted below works fine
    with IE 5.5.

Yeah, I figured it would, but see I'm working with the government and they
haven't rolled out IE 5.5 yet. I downloaded it once and they had a fit.
    thanks anyway

Re: mailto link with subject will not work

i would suggest trying to play with capitalization like making the "subject" to
"Subject". Also remove the URL Encoding characters, and try with a single word
    subject like "Subject=Comments"

you might also want to syntax check your document for missing closing tags or
quotes. this just might be the cause of the problem. have you tried this link
all by itself in a document?

lastly you might want to check on the microsoft site for issues with mailto
hrefs in ie5.0, they might have some patches/workarounds.

sorry that i cant solve your problem.. and could only provide guidelines.
