    create service

I've made a program in VB6 and want it to run as a WinNT-service.

    How do I do this?

    Re: create service

I just posted a reply to this the other day in the Microsoft newsgroups...
    hope it helps.

Check out the following URLs -

    http://vbwire.com/advanced/howto/service.asp
    http://www.microsoft.com/msj/1097/winnt.htm
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/te...n_ntsrvocx.htm
    http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q175/9/48.asp

That *should* keep you busy reading for awhile. :-)

Keep in mind that the Microsoft released ActiveX component NTSrv.ocx is
(reportedly) buggy, and support for it has been dropped a long time ago. If
you're interested in a control for making a NT service, you might want to
have a look at Charles "Gogman" Goggin's website at
http://www.cdctechnologies.com/vb/. There's also a chap by the name of LJ
Johnson who frequents this newsgroup. He has a website and goes into a
little more details about NT Services... (can't find his URL
unfortunately... I apologize to Mr. Johnson :-)
