    Auto saving/updating html page

I am trying to develop a web page that my users can write text into a text
box and it can be saved or they select a pull down menu and it is saved on
the web page. Is there any way of doing this? Thanks

The easiest way I can think of does not use (very much) HTML. If you have
a server side scripting language available (I prefer PHP) you can have the
user hit a submit button that will send off the text that they typed in.
Then on the server side, you can edit a file to save the text. Then from
one of your webpages you can read from that file to get the text back out
(that is if you want the text saved long term).
